Biography

Dr Balamurugan has been a gold medalist right from school days and have completed MBBS, MS and MCh in Neurosurgery with distinctions. He joined Tamilnadu health service at young age and have served in rural Tamilnadu where he has been felicitated by local people, district admistrative officers like Collectors and politicians in all the areas he was posted to.  He has completed Fellowship in Neurosurgery from Japan before completing MCh in Neurosurgery from Madras Medical College.

Dr Balamurugan is an excellent teacher and have held Tutorship posts at Govt Thanjavur Medical college, Stanley Medicial College and Madras Medical College. In 2012, when the new Govt medical college was created at Trichy, he held the HOD in Neurosurgery post and helped set-up whole department, its infrastructure, ward and theatre facilities. He then joined as HOD of Neurosurgery at the Govt Royapettah Hospital in 2014. Currently he serves as Associate Professor in Neurosurgery at the prestigious TN Govt Multispeciality hopital, Omandoorar estate in Chennai. He also visits Apollo Hopitals and Kauvery Hospital. 

His areas of expertise include Minimally Invasive spine surgery, Cerebrovascular Surgery, Brain and Spine Oncological Surgery, Skull Base surgery, Neuro-endoscopy and Comprehensive Head and Spine trauma care.

He is available at Braintree Clinics by prior appointment as he has a very busy schedule.
